Street Sports on the Mall!

N-n-neat promotion. N-n-nice design for our friends at St Nicholas Shopping Centre. They have teamed up with Streets United to help inspire and engage with young people in the local community this summer.

The Urban Freestyle event will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday for three weeks over the summer holidays, where kids can watch and take part in workshops to learn (or improve upon) a new skill such a beatboxing, Yo Yo freestyling, DJing or breakdancing.

The event aims to kick away the boredom of the summer holidays by inspiring them and helping them discover the latest and hottest street sports around in the hope they will take away new skills and positive & productive attitudes.

Dearne Valley College digital account win

We’ve won some substantial new accounts recently and we’re proud to announce yet another for our award winning digital team. We’ve been awarded the work by Dearne Valley College after a rigorous pitching process and are the chosen agency from an initial short-list of 3. The work will include the creation of a 12 month digital strategy that incorporates; website architecture, content planning, copy-writing, website design & build, email marketing and social marketing. The work is already under way and we’re looking forward to the re-launch in September, watch this space for updates!

Dearne Valley College can trace its origins back to the Mechanics Institute in Wath. It first became a college of further education in 1976 when Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council established the Rockingham College of Further Education. It was renamed Dearne Valley College in September 1996 when a new £7.5 million development was opened on the site of the former Manvers colliery.

I think it’s true to say that we’ve all certainly got World Cup fever here, especially now that our sweepstake has been drawn! Working our magic for Warner Estates

As the Marketing team for Warner Estate’s portfolio of shopping centres we keep pretty busy supplying the centres with all their marketing needs. Events play a big part in attracting shoppers to their centres and this summer see’s one of the biggest events of all – the Football World Cup.

With interest in the Cup as massive as ever we’ve been putting together a fabulous four-week footballing feast to cater for fans and families alike.

The centrepiece at each centre is our specially prepared ‘theatre of dreams’ –the World Cup Activity Zone where customers have the chance to test their skills and battle it out for super prizes for table football and Nintendo Wii penalty shoot out.

The fun started last week and continues throughout the month with our specially designed competitions and activities for all the family. For those wanting a more leisurely introduction to the ‘great game’ we’ve negotiated scores of tempting money off offers, free sampling and special discounts for shoppers at each of the centres.

New brand goes under the spotlight

When Leeds based property investment and development company, Town Centre Securities had a brand awareness problem they knew just who to turn to – us of course!

On paper Urban Exchange, their new 60,000 sq ft retail park close to Manchester city centre had everything – good location, high visibility and excellent parking but it just wasn’t attracting the shoppers.

With our help they’ve now introduced a 2-pronged strategy with a new positioning statement and striking graphics to show exactly what’s on offer. And for passing motorists and pedestrians as a final ‘large’ reminder we’ve introduced new signage and bold 96-sheet advertising boards.

We’ll be closely monitoring whether it’s problem solved but you can see for yourself the impact in the image above.

The Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railway Company recently started using our email marketing application and already they’ve seen record breaking results. In the week leading up to the recent Bank Holiday they sent their first 3 campaigns and when we compared the ecommerce statistics that were generated in Google Analytics with the site averages, what was clear to see was an increase across the board. Visitor conversion rates are up 13%, the average transaction values are up 40%, and the per visit values are also up nearly 60%.

These results really are a testament to the fantastic planning and design work that has gone into creating the email templates. Our website wins another award!

Yep! We’ve gone and done it again! Our website has won another award, this time it’s Silver at the Roses Advertising Awards which took place at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Manchester. The night was full of amazing work done by some of the biggest agencies in the country and in our category for “Best Website” we found ourselves up against “StreetSense II” (a website created for Road Safety Scotland) and the “Official Manchester City FC Website” (which was of course created for Manchester City FC!). There was a “Bronze” award given to “StreetSense II” and both ours and the Manchester City FC website received a “Silver” award. It’s great to see that our work has been recognised and even better to win an award for it. A very big well done to all those involved and fingers crossed, we may see yet another award in the cabinet for it later in the year!

Raising funds for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity

England vs USA Charity Sporting Dinner

We love to get involved in charity work so we’re really proud to partner Eventive in the organisation of Three Lions Live, the ultimate sporting dinner to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. The event will show England’s first World Cup game against the USA on large screens with England legend Mark Wright and celebrity guests giving the half time and full time match assessment.

A four course meal, entertainment and a few surprise guests will make for a fantastic evening in aid of the Cancer Charity and the event will be held at the Holiday Inn in Barnsley and tickets are available from our good friend Darren Hayes. I just can’t believe it! I’ve won!

I just can't believe it! I've won!

It was an interesting old day down at Internet World in Earls Court, London with Dave and I wandering round looking at all things Digital when I came across a stand for the email marketing application - GraphicMail. I’m always quite intrigued to look at these applications and compare them to the features that ours provides. After a few minutes of hovering around I was finally convinced by Terry Chapman (their Director of UK Sales) to enter my details into one of their computers and enter myself into a draw to win a Nintendo Wii. I’m sure you’ve guessed the rest! The day after I received a phone call from Terry and he explained that their computer had pulled my name out and that I was the lucky winner of a brand new limited edition Nintendo Wii! How cool is that?

If you fancy your chances at Wii Sports then pop round to our offices anytime, you’ll have to give us some time to practice though!

New Nordic are a Scandinavian company who are based in Denmark with offices worldwide. They are suppliers of innovative health supplements to over 2 million people, the products are based on detailed scientific research and harness the natural essences of vitality of plants, herbs and food around the world.

Having worked on a full advertising programme over the past year with New Nordic, we were asked to design and produce a product guide that could be used by independent health food stores as a quick reference guide to the full range of products supplied by New Nordic. The guide was launched at the Natural Products Europe Trade Show – London Olympia on the 11th/12th April.

Karen Collins from New Nordic commented… “We received nothing but positive feedback from all retailers at the event, the brochure is fantastic!
From start to finish the whole process was brilliant! Designer Stephen Delaney is a credit to the company”.
